'Life' extravaganza to benefit Canton AIDS groups

Multi-talented Canton native Gary Thomas will stage his third annual song and dance extravaganza, “Life,” April 22 at the Canton Palace Theatre. "Life," an annual AIDS benefit, is a two-hour variety show featuring entertainers from Canton to Cleveland. On the program this year are performances by the Canton Ballet, Ohio Lyric Opera, and Windsong Womyn's Ensemble to name just a few. Thomas said that the fundraiser gets bigger and big-

Proceeds from the show will benefit equally Children's Hospital Medical Center of Akron, The Living Experience: A Healing Weekend, St. Hope and Violet's Cupboard. Thomas explained that the show is very upbeat and positive. "It's not a night about speeches. Everybody knows why they're there and where their money is going, so they can just sit back, relax, and enjoy a good show."

The Renaissance City Men's Choir, Pittsburgh's gay men's chorus, will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a concert at the Benedum Centre for the Performing Arts in downtown Pittsburgh on Sunday, May 28 at 7:00 pm. The Memorial Day weekend program will also feature guest appearances by the Columbus Gay Men's Chorus and the North Coast Men's Chorus of Cleveland.
Each chorus will present selections from their musical repertoire and close the evening with a 300-voice joint presentation. Tickets are $15, $20, and $25 and will be available April 18 through the Benedum Centre ticket office at 412-456-6666, all Ticketmaster outlets, or at the Benedum Center the day of the performance. A post-concert reception will be held at the Warhol Museum for a separate ticket price of $10. The Dragon Leather Club is a new social and community organization now forming in Columbus for men and women who are in the leather lifestyle. As a non-profit organization, the Dragons are open to anyone with an interest in leather, regardless of gender, age, race, ethnic heritage, religion or sexual orientation.
